It is never too soon to book your newborn session! It is best to book your session during your 2nd trimester, or at least before baby is born. However, if your baby has already been born, please do still contact me! If I have availability, I will be happy to fit you in!

Due to the unpredictable nature of the arrival of a newborn, your newborn session time is reserved based on your due date. Once your retainer is paid/contract is signed, availability will be reserved surrounding (before/after) your due date. As soon as baby makes their entrance, we can schedule the date/time of your session.

Newborns should be photographed within the first two weeks of baby’s life, when sleep is achieved easily and to avoid acne and colic. As they get older, babies will be awake for longer periods of time, so the younger, the better, as long as everyone is feeling up to it! 

It is important to note that I only do newborn sessions Monday thru Friday at 10 am. There is flexibility with the time, but I do not schedule newborn sessions on the weekends. Please make the proper arrangements ahead of time to accommodate my business hours.

Your newborn session will take place at my studio. The session will last anywhere from 2-4 hours, or longer if we need more time. The session will be shot in studio light, and I will prepare for your session based on information you will provide to me in our pre-session consult. Parents and siblings are welcome for family shots. You will receive a copy of my prep guide, full of helpful tips on how to prepare yourselves and baby to help ensure the session runs as smoothly as possible.

Maternity sessions should be photographed between 30-34 weeks. Maternity sessions will be done outdoors, in the evening. Mommies are welcome to choose a maternity gown from my collection to wear for their Maternity session.

I know from experience that sometimes, after having photos taken, the thumbdrive or disc will sit in a drawer for months on end. But I can also tell you from experience that the photos look much better on the wall than they do in the drawer! Also, it’s so important to me that you are able to take away physical prints of your images that can be passed down to future generations, not just posted on your Facebook wall. 

Following your session, you are welcome to come back within 10 days for an ordering appointment. At that appointment, we will view your images together for the very first time, and I will personally assist you in selecting the prints and products to display the images from your session in your home. This in person reveal/ordering session is optional, but highly encouraged.
